Chloe
This is of my dog, Chloe. We adopted her from the pound almost a year ago and she is a Jack Russell Terrier. Although she seems very docile in this photo, she is actually quite the opposite. She is hyper, chases anything that moves, and barks at the t.v. whenever there's an animal on the screen. Hence, my family and I call her Miss Crazy Chloe.

The Rotunda
One of the perks about working in the Capitol is whenever you have to give a tour, you get to act like a tourist and enjoy walking around looking at interesting things. This photo is of the Apotheosis of George Washington, which could be found in the Rotunda. It depicts Washington ascending into the heavens like a god. I have to admit it's one of the most breathtaking things found in the Capitol and I enjoy looking up at it whenever I get a chance.

A Day on Capitol Hill
This entry chronicles my long day on Capitol Hill. I usually arrive at work at 9am and leave the office by 6pm. It takes me about half an hour to get back to school and by 7pm, I either eat dinner with my friends or wait until my boyfriend gets out of class. Then my night consists of homework or relaxing. It can be very taxing sometimes but I enjoy what I do!

Keeping Track of What I Eat
So I was working on Capitol Hill today and instead of paying for overpriced disgusting cafeteria food in the Longworth Cafeteria, I decided to order take-out Thai food from my favorite restaurant across the street from the Capitol South Metro entrance. It was such a great idea! For eight dollars I got a coke, chicken with ginger, and white rice. I had so much food that I even shared with my co-worker. It was very cheap in comparison to what I would get on the Hill: ten dollars for a drink, cookie, and a wrap.

Presidential Motorcade
So I know this may not be one of the greatest shots I have ever taken; however, I have to admit I was caught off guard when I was walking the streets of Washington, DC when I ran into the presidential motorcade. I stood there on the corner of a street with a throng of people and we all had our cameras out. As the motorcade came closer, I could see the President was waving to us through his tinted bulletproof windows. I was so shell-shocked that I even forgot to press the shutter button. It was quite an exciting moment!

Hey There!
I tried to have all of my favorite elements included in this photo: cherry blossoms, water, and my boyfriend. This was taken on Sunday evening before the Sun was setting and I loved how I was able to get the photo at an angle and how I tried to have the cherry blossoms out of focus to show how important these elements mean to me.

Unseen, Part Two
Here's a glimpse of the Jefferson Memorial through the blossoms of the cherry tree. I loved how different the point of view was. What was a huge plus was the fact that the cherry blossoms were blooming and although the weather was not warm enough to fully enjoy it, it was definitely beautiful and it is a sign that spring is on the way.

A Fond Farewell
I was taking pictures of the frozen banks of Lake Michigan when I caught a candid moment between Patrick and his dog. We were leaving to drive back to Washington, DC that morning and he wanted to say goodbye one last time. I think I was perfectly able to capture the feelings and the emotions that were being felt/experienced.

The Unseen
The three photos that are included in this post are a part of our assignment of "the unseen". To me, what it means to be "unseen" is to take a photograph in a different point of view by using different angles and vantage points. All three photos show as if I was within a tree. I tried to capture different moods/different ways of seeing things.

Easter Basket
For my "one-shot" assignment, I didn't exactly know what to take as this year I spent Easter with my boyfriend and his family. It was a first for me, as I have never celebrated Easter without being with my family. However, I felt like I was a part of my boyfriend's family as they included me in their activities, such as an Easter egg hunt throughout the house. They even had an Easter basket made for me. This is a picture of my basket filled with candy and with a personalized Frango Chegg (a caramel filled chocolate egg), which can only be found in Chicago. I have to admit I that this was one of the best Easter holidays I have ever had in a long time.

Townhouses in the City
I was walking in the city a week or two ago and I saw these interesting townhouses. What attracted me was the color and the fact that the heights interchanged between the buildings. But I guess what really got my attention is the fact that it is surrounded by taller office buildings. That's what happens when you live in a city, I guess!
